Ah Lord God! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by the great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee. (Jeremiah 32:17)

For many years we have been praying for revival within Russian Orthodox Church. Few years ago Bishop Sergey Zhooravlev opened his heart for the Truth and his life was changed – he’s been born again. He joined Russian Reformed Orthodox Church and now he serves as arc-bishop over Moscow and Tula region. He likes to share testimony of how God visited him and transformed him from being a persecutor of God’s church into God’s faithful disciple. I invited Father Sergey to come to Ivanovo and to minister on September 10th at the gathering of 4 local churches and at the night service at our church. He was sharing about revival within orthodox church and we made a commitment to pray for Bishop Sergey, for God’s protection over him and his family and to support his ministry. Please, keep him in your prayers as well. Thank you.

From the very beginning of our work in Shuya our main goal was and is to see children not just having good time and making new friends but growing in the knowledge of God and His Word. In order to make the Bible study more fun for kids we thought of the Bible Study contest. Kids from the Christian Choir had to learn 4 scriptures including John 3:16. All of them did very well and received prizes – toys and sweets.

New people joining our Sunday services

We continue to meet at our home for Sunday morning services. We started Alpha course 2 weeks ago and each Sunday we keep adding new people. Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away. There is a light meal together at the beginning of each session which gives people a chance to get to know each other. After I teach we discuss the topic, ask questions and express opinions in an atmosphere of joy and excitement.  On pictures you can see our group discussion and one of the slides I used while teaching basics of Christianity.
